2nd Annual Keg & Cask Festival

The Oakridge Keg & Cask Festival is a fundraiser for the Oakridge Food Box and the Chamber of Commerce occurring August 28, 2010 from 2-8pm.

Two blocks of historic Uptown Oakridge will be closed to traffic in front of the Brewers' Union Local 180 Pub and Brewery and City Hall. There will be outdoor seating, local breweries and wineries (from within 100 miles of Oakridge).

Admittance to the Oakridge Keg & Cask Festival is free. $15 gains access to the tasting area, a commemorative pint glass or wine glass and 4 taste tickets. Additional tickets are $1 each. Tasters must be 21 to enter the tasting area. The food court will be free of charge and open to all ages (but no dogs allowed). Local musicians will play in front of the Brewers' Union before a covered seating area.

Oakridge Food Box food donation barrels will be present to collect food donations during the event, please share with those in need by donating nonperishable items at the brewfest.

Breweries who will be selling tastes of beer: Oakshire Brewing from Eugene, Wakonda Brewing Co. from Florence, Block 15 Brewery from Corvallis and Brewers Union Local 180 from Oakridge.

Local wineries include: Shadow Mountain Vineyards from Junction City, Bradley Vineyards from Elkton, Palotai Vineyard and Winery from Roseburg and Noble Estate Vineyard and Winery from Eugene.

Promoters of the event are the Oakridge-Westfir Area Chamber of Commerce and the Upper Willamette Community Development Corporation- the nonprofit fiscal agent for the Oakridge Food Box, Low Income Energy Assistance Program, Salmon Creek Community Garden and Oakridge Treasures Thrift Store. This event is funded in part with room tax grant funds in support with the Oakridge/Westfir Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Oakridge and Lane County.
